Routine battery Inspections & testing are an excellent way to know when a battery is dying and when it requires replacement. Frequent inspections help our customers know when to replace their battery because any physical case damages demand replacement. Battery inspections are completed by a certified technician looking for case damage, leaks, bloating, or disfiguration.

Battery Testing

A certified technician uses a voltmeter to test the battery’s electrical performance including its reserve capacity cold-cranking amps. Reserve capacity is how much voltage the battery holds and cold-cranking amps are the amount of voltage provided when starting the engine. If the technician finds electrical performance outside of specifications, the battery requires replacement.

What are the Symptoms of a Dying Auto Battery?

If you begin to experience any of the symptoms of a dying battery, you have little time to replace the battery before it dies. With a dead battery rendering a vehicle immobile, it is an excellent decision to stay on top of the battery’s condition and performance to ensure reliable performance. Here are the most common symptoms of a dying battery:

• Slow engine cranking or difficulty starting the engine
• Dashboard warning light
• Excessive corrosion on the terminal
• Dim headlights
• Battery case is damaged, swollen, leaking fluid, or otherwise disfigured
